City of Melbourne · Business Growth Impact Grant
Occivar is backed by the City of Melbourne's Business Growth Impact Grants programme. The grant supports the R&D and the path to a first civic-space pilot - the architecture the BGIG funded us to build is what makes the privacy answer load-bearing instead of a per-site policy negotiation.
Winner of CORENA's Innovation Award (2026)
CORENA named Occivar the winner of the second CORENA Innovation Award - an affordable, AI-driven building intelligence system that uses edge AI to reduce unnecessary HVAC and lighting load. The award provides $5,000 toward project implementation, as either a cash contribution or an offset against a CORENA loan.
Funded venture · RMIT Activator LaunchHUB cohort
Occivar is one of seven impact-driven startups funded through RMIT Activator's LaunchHUB pre-accelerator. The 12-week programme provides equity-free funding of up to $20,000 per startup plus access to RMIT's technology and researchers, targeted at mission-driven founders aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
