CrowdVision.ai is now Occivar.
The mission is the same. The architecture is the same. The logo is the same. The founder, the team, the legal entity, the ABN and the Melbourne address are all the same. The blog posts you have read, the pilots we have lined up and the integrations we are shipping all carry forward unchanged.
The only thing that is different is the name on the door.
This post explains why we made the change, what stays the same, and the handful of small things to update on your side.
01 · THE SHORT VERSIONThe short version
Old name: CrowdVision.ai New name: Occivar Same: mission, product, architecture, logo, founder, team, legal entity, ABN New: brand name, primary domain (
occivar.com), email addresses (@occivar.com)
If you do nothing, everything still works. Old links redirect to the new home, old emails forward, the architecture and procurement letters you have on file still describe the same platform.
02 · WHY WE CHANGED THE NAMEWhy we changed the name
Occivar represents the brand better. As the platform matured the centre of gravity moved from "crowd vision" to anonymous occupancy intelligence, measuring how spaces are actually used, hour by hour, zone by zone. The new name says that out loud.
03 · WHAT THE NAME MEANSWhat the name means
Occivar is built from two ideas the product is actually about:
- Occi: from occupancy, the measurement the platform exists to produce.
- var: from variable, the operational truth that occupancy is never a fixed number; it is a curve through time, by zone, by day, by event.
Occupancy as a variable. That is the product in one word.
04 · WHAT STAYS THE SAMEWhat stays the same
The list of things we are explicitly not changing is longer than the list of things we are:
- The mission: privacy-first edge AI for physical spaces. No video stored, no faces recognised, no demographic inference. Anonymous counts only.
- The architecture: on-device inference, raw frames never leave the sensor, tenant-scoped data, customer-side egress proxy on request.
- The logo: the brand mark is unchanged. Same colours, same geometry, same wordmark shape. The "CrowdVision.ai" lockup is retired, but the mark itself carries forward.
- The legal entity: CrowdVision.ai Pty Ltd remains the registered company. ABN 29 691 189 134 is unchanged. Existing contracts, MSAs, DPAs and procurement letters reference the same entity. We will rename the entity at ASIC in due course; until we do, the Pty Ltd name continues to appear in legal footers exactly because it is the legal entity.
- The team: same founder, same advisors, same operations team, same field team.
- The pilots, awards and grants: the City of Melbourne BGIG, the CORENA Innovation Award and the RMIT Activator LaunchHUB funding all carry forward. They were awarded to the company, not to the brand name.
- The blog and the case studies: every post we have published stays where it was, on the same URL, with the same content. The author bylines have been updated to reflect the new team labels ("Occivar Ops Team", "Occivar Sales Team") but the words on the page are unchanged.
05 · WHAT IS CHANGINGWhat is changing
A small, finite list:
- Brand name in copy: "Occivar" replaces "CrowdVision.ai" across the website, decks, email signatures and outbound communications.
- Primary domain:
occivar.comis the canonical home. The legacycrowdvision.aidomain redirects to the new domain. - Email addresses:
@occivar.comis the new domain. Old@crowdvision.aiaddresses forward indefinitely; reply-to is set to the new domain. - Public-facing legal footer: the footer now reads
© 2026 Occivar™ · CrowdVision.ai Pty Ltd · ABN 29 691 189 134, brand on the left, legal entity on the right, ABN unchanged. - LinkedIn and other social profiles: being renamed in parallel. URLs may take a few days to update.
That is the entire list.
06 · WHAT YOU SHOULD DOWhat you should do
For almost everyone reading this, the answer is nothing. Existing links redirect. Existing emails forward. Existing contracts reference the same legal entity. The architecture letter on file is still accurate.
Three small updates are worth making when you have a moment:
- Bookmarks and saved links: point them at
occivar.comdirectly so you skip the redirect. - Address-book contacts: update any
@crowdvision.aiemail addresses to@occivar.com. Old addresses still work, but new mail goes out from the new domain. - Internal procurement notes: if you keep a vendor card on file, the brand on it is now Occivar; the legal entity, ABN and registered office are unchanged.
If you are mid-conversation with us on a pilot or a procurement form, no action is needed on your side. We will continue from where we were.
07 · FREQUENTLY ASKEDFrequently asked
Is this a sale, merger or pivot? No. It is a name change. Same company, same ownership, same team, same product, same roadmap.
Did anything happen that forced the change? No. The product matured into anonymous occupancy intelligence and the new name reflects that clearly.
Are you affiliated with crowdvision.com? No. CrowdVision.ai Pty Ltd (Australia, now trading as Occivar) is a separate, unaffiliated company from crowdvision.com, a UK-based crowd-analytics firm. The name overlap is one reason we moved to a distinct brand. If you searched "CrowdVision Australia" and landed here, you are in the right place: this is the Australian company, now Occivar.
Should we update existing contracts? No. Existing contracts reference CrowdVision.ai Pty Ltd (the legal entity), which has not changed. When new contracts are issued they will continue to reference the legal entity in the parties clause and may reference "Occivar" as the operating brand.
Will old links break? No. Every old URL redirects to its equivalent on the new domain, and the homepage redirects to this announcement so anyone arriving at the old address sees the explanation.
What is the new email I should use?
hello@occivar.com for general enquiries, pilots and procurement, security@occivar.com for security disclosures, legal@occivar.com for legal and contracts.
The new name reads cleaner and says what we do. The product underneath is the same product. The privacy claim is the same claim. The team is the same team.
If you need anything (a fresh architecture letter, a refreshed quote, a new email signature for your vendor onboarding form), say so. Otherwise, we will see you on the next pilot conversation under the new name.
